What Are Halloween Gift Baskets?
Halloween gift baskets have become as popular as all the other holiday and special occasion gift baskets that are sent to so many of people every year. Halloween gift baskets can actually be some of the most entertaining baskets to create and give to loved ones. They are also possibly the easiest to make on your own, because you have the specific Halloween theme to follow.
Of course candy is always a popular item during Halloween. Many gift baskets contain such goodies as candy corn made also in other seasonal shapes, chocolate ghosts and witches, gummy spooks, and other home made candies. People who are crafty in the kitchen even make their own Halloween candy suckers. Halloween gift baskets filled with all sorts of edible treats make well received gifts for the lucky recipients.
You can create a party in a basket for someone who has no special plans for Halloween. This basket would include some sort of costume, treats of either candy or baked goods, a music CD of some spooky music, microwave popcorn, and soda. You might also want to throw in a Halloween mug to drink the soda from. Include some black and orange balloons that will serve as decorations. These items can all be put together in a large popcorn bowl, which will serve as the “basket.”
There are some Halloween gift baskets that will work for children as well as the young at heart of all ages. These would include stuffed animal baskets. Find all the Halloween stuffed animals that you can. You can usually find small ones dressed in Halloween costumes beginning in September each year. They can be placed into a customized basket decorated with black and orange. Add some Halloween candy, and attach some balloons to the handle.
These are all Halloween gift baskets that you can make yourself, even if you are not artistically inclined. If you prefer to buy your gift baskets pre-made, there are many shops around the world that offer this service. They will do customized baskets as well as ship ready made ones. This can be done online or by visiting a local shop. Florists are great places to get flower baskets of Halloween colors. You can pick out your own flowers to deliver yourself, or let the florist choose something appropriate for delivery.
Once you have an idea in mind for someone, use it to create their Halloween gift basket. Think of all the things you know about the person you want to send the gift basket to. You could make a list, either written or just in your head, of all those things you know this person particularly likes. With that knowledge you should be able to create the perfect gift basket for that person.

Making Halloween Wigs
It is just so easy to make your own Halloween wigs. All you will need are some quite simple items and your imagination to make any style of wig your want. Of course, you will want to theme it with the Halloween costume you are wearing, and the effect you want to achieve. But you can only be limited by your own ideas and creativity.
The basics for making your own wig are actually quite simple. You will need a baseball cap, knitted hat, pantyhose, or any other sort of hat that will cover your own hair. Add to this some yarn in any color you choose for your particular wig, fabric glue, scissors, a small cup, and a beach ball or basket ball. You may also require a needle and thread for some of the wigs, if you need to sew the yarn to a knitted cap.
Once you have assembled your supplies, you can begin making your Halloween wigs. Take the cup and glue it to the base of the ball. Use this as a stand for your cap. You now have your head ready to work with. Place your cap on the ball and get ready for a lot of fun.
Cut the yarn into the lengths you want your wig hair to be. You can make short hair, or very long hair. The choice is totally up to you. Next, make a thin line of glue where you want the part to be. You can also make a circle of glue. For a split colored wig, make a line with the glue halfway around your head. Attach the yarn one piece at a time to the glue until the entire ball is covered as you would like it. If you are working on the top, you move the yarn to one side or the other as needed. You may just tie it up to get to the next layer. If using a knit cap you will need to sew the yarn to it instead of using the glue. It sews the same way. Now, you are almost done with the first of your Halloween wigs.
You then just need to let the glue dry and you will have your very own Halloween wig! After the glue dries, you can fix it into any style you like. You may want it to be straight and hanging down, put into ponytails, or just anyway that you would like to show off your own homemade wig. Please do not use your own head as a base for your Halloween wigs model. Be sure to always glue the yarn onto a fake model because any stray glue will be difficult to remove from your own hair!

We can make printable Halloween masks fairly easily ourselves now that so many of us have access to computers and printers. While these may not be as realistic as some of the expensive masks you buy in stores and costume shops, they can still serve a purpose. When you pay a lot of money on a mask for a small child, it may turn out to be money wasted. Masks can make a child very hot, making it appear hard to breathe, or even see through. Printable masks are much cheaper and can be made to fit any face.
There are many websites online that have printable Halloween masks that you can get access to for free. These are mostly found at websites for kids, but there are also those that can be used for adult masks. Depending on what you want your mask to look like, there are different supplies you will want to assemble once you have printed out the mask of your choice.
A child’s mask is very easy to craft and is also a lot of fun. The search for the perfect mask can be a large part of the fun. Keep in mind what the end result is supposed to be when looking at the different printable Halloween masks. Once you find something that fits your vision, print it out and get to work.
The first thing you will want to do is trace this mask on a piece of poster board. It will need something to give it support and substance to stay on without tearing. Cut out the poster board mask and glue it to the back of the printed version. Let it dry completely before doing any more work on it. Any coloring, painting or decorating can be done after this. Depending on what you want the mask to look like, you will need things like paint, glitter, or anything else you can think of that you would like to put on your mask.
If you are making these printable Halloween masks for children, you will need to make small slits or holes on the sides of the mask to run either a string, elastic, or ribbon through. This will hold the masks on their faces. Using an Exacto knife is the best way to cut these holes as well as the eyes, nose and mouth into the masks. They cut more precisely and you don’t run the risk of tearing the holes. Adults can simply use a tongue depressor or emery board attached to one side of the mask to hold it up their faces.
This is something that all the family can get involved. Printable Halloween masks have more choices for you every year. You can enhance and complete them yourself and you can use your own imagination and creativity. Since this is the one day of the year you can be anything or anyone you want you should take full advantage and make your Hallowen mask accordingly.

The tradition of wearing Halloween costumes stems from long ago. Many centuries ago it was believed by people that the veil between the physical and spiritual realms would come down that day, allowing spirits to come back from the dead and cause mischief and mayhem. So, they themselves would dress up in masks and paint their faces to confuse these spirits. People were hoping to hide their identity. They thought they were disguising themselves as the dead by dressing themselves as demons, ghosts, and zombies.
These days the list of scary costumes has been added to. Vampires, witches, and mummies are all popular for scary Halloween costumes. Classic Movies such as Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, The Wolf Man and Phantom of the Opera have inspired many Halloween costumes over the years. More modern movies such as Friday the Thirteenth, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream and Saw have caused a further plethora of scary masks and costumes. The movie Halloween even produced its own variation on a Halloween costume.
But along with those scary costumes, there are now cowboys, pumpkins, cheerleaders, football players, politicians and pop culture celebrities that have made the Halloween holiday a lighter more fun filled time. These days you are just as likely to bump into a superheroes such as Batman or Superman, a Star Wars character, the US President or Elvis as any scary ghouls in Halloween costume.
